WordPerfect Office remains in active use in legal and government environments, largely because of two capabilities that have no direct equivalent elsewhere: Reveal Codes, which exposes the underlying formatting of a document, and the legal-specific tooling for pleadings, tables of authorities and Bates numbering.

It is a perpetual licence with no subscription requirement, which is often the deciding factor for public sector procurement.
