AutoCAD is the drafting baseline across architecture, engineering and manufacturing, and the current subscription includes the seven industry toolsets — Architecture, Mechanical, Electrical, MEP, Map 3D, Plant 3D and Raster Design — which were previously separate purchases. For teams that use even one of them, that inclusion is the substantive commercial change of the last few years.

The subscription also carries the web and mobile applications, which matter more on site than in the office: opening a current drawing on a tablet during a site visit removes a whole category of printing and version confusion.
